Martin Laird has the lead at 12 under par going in to the final round of the Barclays. He was shocked when he looked up at the leaderboard. The Fedexcup Projections had him finishing in 1st. Laird said he was shocked but others we'rent after witnessing his 6 under 65 on saturday. He has a final round pairing with Dustin Johnson who has recovered very nicely after the Whistling Straits bunker incident. Johnson along with Jason Day are the two players at 9 under par for the championship. Tiger woods is not looking to win a trophy this Sunday. He is just looking to finish up nicely and ease his way into Boston for the Deutsche Bank Championship Next week.
Dustin Johnson has had some bad luck in Majors This year, shooting an 82 on Sunday in the US Open when he held the lead going into the Final Round. And also got disqualified for grounding his club in a bunker in the PGA Championship keeping him from advancing to a playoff. The Resilient Johnson has been in the Final Group in each of his last two tournaments.

Recap round 2 Barclays
Jason Day knows where he stands right now. And that is in the lead at the first playoff event of the Fedex Cup, The Barclays. Many thought this would be the tournament when Tiger Wooods would bounce back and claim a reassuring victory. But when world number 1 lost four shots playing his second nine very poorly on friday, the lead was handed over to the Australian at 22 years of age. Day had three birdies late and finished with a ''Day'' of 4 under par, a 67, and a one shot lead. 9 players all held the lead at different points of the round. The EDS Byron Nelson Champion is at -8 one shot ahead of Kevin Streelman, and Augusta, Ga. native, Vaughn Taylor. Tiger Woods was patient during his round but even he admits his putting was off on Friday Afternoon. Some may say that he wasn't stroking it on the greens his best because the greens were bumpy from earlier tee times, but many people also think that he would be used to that having been playing in the late afternoon many times before. But even my 8 year old brother could have made that 20 inch par putt on the fifth. Get with it dude! ''I hit the ball great'' Woods commented, ''But I can't score if I can't putt.'' He finished with a 73 +2. But at least he knows that he'll still have the world number one spot after this week. Phil Mickelson ended up missing the cut. Woods is still very much in the running taking in to account that he has only missed two fairways in two rounds.
If you want to talk about a hot streak start talking about Kevin Streelman on day 2 of the Barclays. In seven holes Streelman birdies six of them. He will be in the final group playing round 3. Stewart Cink, a Ryder Cup hopeful, posted a 69 on friday joining a group of people at -6 for the championship. Martin Laird, and once leader John Senden are the other players joining Stewart at 6 under par.
Very Dissapointing outing for world number two Phil Mickelson who started this week with a 72 and ended with a three over 74. Another time he has failed to capture Tiger Woods in the battle for World Number One. Phil Mickelson missed the cut by four strokes.
He did not speak to reporters

Talking with Arjun Atwal after Wyndham Championship round 1
Commentator: Congratulations on your 61 today. If you'll kind of just make some general comments about your round today and we'll take some questions.
Atwal: Yeah. It was fun. You know, the golf course it was out there. There was no wind. The greens were soft. Ball in hand. All you have to do is hit fairways. It was a lot of fun today.
Q: I guess you knew going out that the scores were going to be low today?
Atwal: Yeah. You know, I saw some of the scores from the morning and even though it was raining on those guys in the morning they were still taking it deep so i knew the golf course was going to play pretty easy today.
Q: Tommorow, you have a morning tee time. I mean is that good you just kind of keep it going? Hard to kinda duplicate a 61, I imagine.
Atwal: Yeah I'm gonna try and keep it going. We'll see what happens.
Q: What was your last 61 that you can recall?
Atwal: I shot 60 on the Nationwide tour when I won in Chattanooga.

Wyndham Championship Round 1 Recap
Arjun Atwal has recently tied the course record shooting 61 at Sedgefield CC in North Carolina while playing in the first round of the season's final regular season event the Wyndham Championship. He currently holds a Two-Stroke lead going into Friday's second round action. This course which holds the event before the first playoff event The Barclays, Has only had one other player shoot a 61 and that was Carl Pettersson two years ago. Pettersson then went on to win. Atwal hoping he holds on too win as well, shot 9-under par on this par 70 golf course. 2007 champion Brandt Snedeker shot an opening round 63 (two behind Atwal). Kevin Streelman, David Toms, Jeev Milka-Singh, Boo Weekley, John Rollins, and 2009 U.S. Open Champion Lucas Glover are all players who shot a score of 64. Six different players shot 65. It was wet at Sedgefield which made the greens soft and judging on how well the players scored today they certainly took advantage of the slightly easier play. Atwal who lost his card last month would benefit from a win here which would most certainly allow him to regain his Tour Card. Atwal had Zero bogeys in his Back Nine earlier today and finished the day not making a bogey in the Front Nine. He birdied 3 out of his 4 remaining holes to end the day with a 9-under 61. Jay Williamson birdied 4 of his opening 5 holes and ended up being one of those Half-Dozen players to shoot a 65. John Mallinger shot to the top of the leaderboard with a string of birdies in his back nine but then bogeyed the eighteenth with a three-putt performance but still carded a 65. David Toms birdied 15-16-17 to get to 7-under but similar to Mallinger bogeyed the eighteenth to shoot a 64.
Well the horn did not sound this year as it did continuously in last years tournament but the greens were damp which caused players to leave putts short.
All players geared up and ready to take to the course tommorow at 3:00 pm eastern time coverage is on the golf channel.
